Wednesday Website of the Week No.1 – What’s in John’s Freezer

I’m going to try have a couple of regular features here. We’ve already seen the Monday Bird of the Week. Now it’s the Wednesday Website of the Week (WWOW).

First up is ‘What’s in John’s Freezer?‘ by John R Hutchinson. John is Professor of Evolutionary Biomechanics at the Royal Veterinary College, University of London.

Because of his job, I should start with a warning. His blog can get gory. His studies involve lots of dissection of some fairly large dead animals, like elephants and crocodiles. So if you are of a sensitive disposition, it’s best not to look.

For me though, how animals work, and how that demonstrates our inter-relatedness is a fascinating thing. John’s website revels in this. I doubt there are many other websites that show a crocodile in a CT scanner, or a man surrounded by elephant intestines.

I’m not going to go on about it, I just highly recommend you check it out.

I’ll be looking for more great websites, so are there any you particularly love?
