New Earswick Nature Reserve

I’m not a big fan of New Years Resolutions, but one little thing I am planning is to try make a weekly visit to our local nature reserve and use this blog to record that. It’s a private reserve, you need a key and ID card to visit. As I have this, it’s a shame not to make more use of it.

I’ll post more from next week, and weekly after that. I had a visit on the 30th though just to get into the habit.

Unfortunately we only spotted it from the far side of the pond so couldn’t get a good shot. But as I always see at least one here, I’m hoping 2015 will yield some good kingfisher photos.

We saw plenty more, including bullfinches and chaffinches.

It was misty and frosty, which always adds atmosphere.

Anyway, that’s just a flavour of the site. More to come over the next 12 months.
