Because this doesn’t fit with Day Five’s rockpool theme, this is a little standalone post that features a couple of baby birds.At the Shipwreck and Marine Heritage Centre in Charlestown there was a very low lying Swallow nest amongst the cables, and I was able to grab a quick picture of the young peeking out.
Just outside the centre was a youngster a little further on. A juvenile Pied wagtail.
There was actually a parent bird around too, but it seemed to have decided it was time to cut the apron strings and let the youngster fend for itself. At the point I took this the poor thing looked distinctly unimpressed with its new status.
