With little time and no moments of good fortune to fall back on, it’s a quick one today. I had another look for orchids but this time found invasive Himalayan Balsam.
It’s a beautiful flower, but that’s why it’s been so widely introduced and has gone on to choke out native wildflowers.
On the up side the lake finally has some baby moorhens after it had been looking like none had bred successfully.
Even more excitingly there is at least on clutch of pochard chicks. Considering there are only a few hundred breeding pairs in the UK, to have them at both the East and West campuses is great.
