Water of Leith

I started 2019 with a 4 mile walk along the Water of Leith. It was quiet, but good for waking up after a late night.

There weren’t huge numbers of birds around. Plenty of evidence of Dippers, but no actual sightings. A single female Goosander on the river.

In the trees there were numerous Chaffinches, plus the usual Robins and range of tits.

Several trees had fruit on, and these were being vigorously guarded by Mistle Thrushes, with Redwing around somewhere.

A pleasant start to the year, and hopefully much more to come in 2019 with some exciting sites to be discovered.
